Free Choice Is Neither

The flower falls even though we love it, and the weed grows even though we don’t…

Could I ? Should I ? Would I ?

. . .

Did I ?

No other place…

    Tea party Goers,

Between us, I know we’ll never be as alone with each other… as I am when I am with God.

Obviously, I am a fan of this song.

Listen to the gentle, melodic ooo-ing and ahh-ing of the background vocals; the mesmerizing, sometimes whispered, halting and shifting lyrics that produce double- and triple-entendres that synthesize feelings and beliefs that are emotional and theoretical opposites. The song transforms “God’s” unapproachable, unresponsive, un-presence into an intimate, doubt destroying, spirit sustaining, love relationship.

Thank you Allie, for finding the Bollywood translation.

    Here are the corrected lyrics…

    No Other Place

Smother me, don’t let me down
Show me your meekness and beauty.
Cover me, free me from doubt
Bring out the feeling inside me.
Between us, I know we’ll always be, alone.

    Your silence invites us
No place that we’d rather be.
    The islands beside us
Open their arms to the sea.

    Cold embrace, with me again
I could never leave you gladly
Simple grace, falls with the rain
Knowing you’ll always be with me.
Between us, I know we’ll always be, alone.

    Your silence invites us
No place that we’d rather be.
    The islands beside us
Open their arms to the sea.

And though I know we have to leave
A part of us will never go
Capture the hearts of all you receive
And craving that we all return.

    You silence invites us
No place that we’d rather be.
    The islands beside us
Open their arms to the sea.

    You silence invites us
No place that we’d rather be.
    The islands beside us
Open their arms to the sea.

Wishing all Peace, Happiness, and Free Tuition,
    ~Robert
